Today I’m going to share with you how to make a very easy and delicious Ponche Navideño, Mexican Fruit Punch, a traditional hot drink during the Christmas holidays.
It is made using water, fresh and dried fruits, hibiscus, sugar cane, cinnamon, and sweetened with Piloncillo. You can serve it with or without alcohol. Keep in mind like every recipe and every household there are tons of variations that make this delicious recipe, you can always adjust it to your taste. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I and my family do.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Hibiscus/ Jamaica Flower
- 3 small piloncillos
- 2 large cinnamon sticks
- 6 whole cloves
- Sugar
- 1/2 cup raisin
- 1/2 cup prunes
- 5 sugar cane stalk
- 2 orange peels(optional)
- 1 lb Guava
- 1 lb tejocote/ Mexican hawthorn
- 1 lb plums
- 3 membrillos/ quince
- 3 brown pears
- 2 green peras
- 3 red apples
- 2 golden apples
- 5L water-(20 cups)
