EDCOUCH-ELSA, Texas — Rio Grande Valley conjunto group Los DeltaBoyz have officially released their latest studio album, Puro Conjunto 956, now available on all major streaming platforms through Lonestar Records. Leading the project is the album’s focus single, “Corazón Libertino,” a hard-driving track that highlights the band’s commitment to traditional conjunto music with a modern edge.
Rooted deeply in South Texas culture, Puro Conjunto 956 delivers a collection of dancehall-ready songs that stay true to the genre’s rich heritage. The album was produced by Los DeltaBoyz and co-produced by legendary multi-Grammy Award-winning producer Gilbert Velasquez, whose influence helped shape the project’s polished yet authentic sound.
One of the album’s standout tracks, “Porque Nosotros No,” features an exclusive arrangement by Velasquez, giving fans a taste of the signature style that has made him one of Tejano music’s most respected producers.
The lead single, “Corazón Libertino” (“Rebellious Heart”), captures the essence of Los DeltaBoyz’ sound. Anchored by a powerful bajo sexto, sharp accordion melodies, and a tight rhythm section, the song was crafted with dancers in mind. Its energetic groove and traditional conjunto feel make it a natural fit for dance halls throughout Texas and beyond.

While Los DeltaBoyz may be a relatively new name on the scene, the musicians behind the band are longtime veterans of Tejano music. Representing the Delta communities of Edcouch, Elsa, and Monte Alto in South Texas, the members have spent years performing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. That experience shines throughout the album, resulting in a disciplined and polished sound that remains faithful to the traditions of conjunto music.
“We made this record for our raza,” said bassist Eddie Gonzalez. “From the Valley all the way up to San Antonio, and all of Texas, this is the music of our people, which we hope we can expose to the rest of the world. Working with Gilbert Velasquez took things to another level. With the years we’ve all spent on the road with different groups, we wanted to come together and give the fans a great selection of songs they can dance to.”
With the release of Puro Conjunto 956, Los DeltaBoyz are preparing to take their music directly to fans through festivals, dance halls, radio appearances, and live performances across Texas, Mexico, and beyond. The group’s blend of seasoned musicianship, cultural pride, and dedication to traditional conjunto music positions them as one of the emerging acts carrying the genre forward.
