The unexpected collaboration gave fans the first live performance of the entirely Spanish-language version of “Uncertain, TX,” a new collaborative single released earlier in the week. The moment brought together Musgraves’ country roots and Intocable’s signature accordion-driven sound in a performance celebrating the cultural influences that continue to shape Texas music.

Musgraves performed in Spanish alongside Intocable lead vocalist Ricky Muñoz, who accompanied the song on accordion. The live debut offered fans an opportunity to hear the collaboration beyond its studio recording, with Muñoz’s unmistakable sound adding a distinctly música Mexicana touch to the performance.

Kacey Musgraves Celebrates Texas’ Cultural Roots

Before introducing Intocable, Musgraves shared her appreciation for Texas’ cultural diversity and the musical traditions that have influenced her latest work.

The singer explained how spending part of her time living in Mexico helped inspire the sounds of her new album, highlighting the impact of Mexican culture on her musical perspective. She also described sharing the stage with icons of música Mexicana as an immense honor.

The introduction set the tone for a performance that reached beyond genre boundaries, recognizing the connections between country music, Tejano, Norteño and the broader Texas-Mexican musical tradition.

For Intocable, the appearance represented another opportunity to bring its influential sound to a wider audience while celebrating the group’s deep connection to South Texas and generations of fans who have embraced its music.

Intocable and Musgraves Deliver a Texas Tornados Classic

The surprise collaboration continued with a high-energy performance of “Hey Baby, Que Paso,” the beloved song popularized by the Texas Tornados.

The unexpected cover brought the crowd to its feet, creating a celebration of the cross-cultural sounds that have long defined Texas music. With Musgraves and Intocable sharing the stage, the performance honored a song that remains an enduring anthem of the state’s Mexican-American musical heritage.

The pairing underscored the natural connection between the artists’ musical worlds, with Intocable’s accordion-driven arrangements bringing an unmistakable regional flavor to the evening.

Together, the performances of “Uncertain, TX” and “Hey Baby, Que Paso” transformed the surprise appearance into a tribute to the cultural influences woven throughout Texas’ musical identity.

A Second Night of Austin Surprises

Intocable’s appearance marked the second consecutive night of special guests during Musgraves’ Austin stop. On Wednesday, October 7, she surprised concertgoers by bringing fellow country star Miranda Lambert onstage.

The back-to-back surprises added to the excitement surrounding the Middle of Nowhere tour, with the Intocable collaboration standing out for its celebration of Texas’ interconnected musical traditions.

Musgraves’ tour continues with a scheduled stop in Dallas on Saturday, October 10.

For fans of Tejano and música Mexicana, the Austin performance offered a memorable meeting of musical worlds—one that placed Intocable’s signature sound alongside a country star whose latest work embraces the cultural influences that make Texas music distinctive.
