Written by Mike Perez, “Maldito Sea” represents a slightly different style of music from what fans have come to expect from Delarosa. The accompanying video brings the song to life through a colorful, artistic presentation inspired by bohemian and Gypsy aesthetics, with fashion, culture and cinematic storytelling playing central roles.

“I would like to say that it’s the latest and greatest,” Magali told Tejano Nation. “It was such a fun single to record. It was such a fun video to also create.”

The singer said she wanted to release the project in time for the fall season, a goal she accomplished with a video that offers more than its eye-catching visuals. Those who watch until the end will discover a playful scary-movie element featuring actor and musician Brandon Cortez of the emerging band iluzol.

“I was able to bring in Brandon Cortez from the band iluzol to be the actor on this project, and he did such a fantastic job,” Magali said.

The video was filmed at Casa Vibra and Snappixstudio in McAllen, Texas, with Baldemar Garcia of 1st Class Cinema behind the camera. The locations provide a colorful backdrop for the production, bringing together the region’s cultural influences and the video’s distinctive artistic vision.

Magali Delarosa also brought her fashion-design talents to the project, creating the clothing herself. Her involvement in the wardrobe and visual presentation reflects the hands-on approach she takes to her music, combining her interests in fashion, film and performance into a cohesive creative project.

The singer expressed gratitude to everyone who helped bring the video together, as well as to the fans who have embraced the release.

“The video’s doing very well, and I’m just very excited to always create and put out new stuff for everybody,” she said.

A Multidisciplinary Artist Rooted in the Rio Grande Valley

A Mexican-American independent Tejano singer-songwriter, actress, fashion designer and producer, Magali has developed an artistic identity that extends beyond music. A native of the Rio Grande Valley and a graduate of PSJA North High School, she draws inspiration from Cumbia, Tejano music, vintage fashion and cinema.

Her musical catalog includes projects such as Esta Vez, Mis Sueños, Amor Barato, Corazón Rebelde and Flor Y Diamante. She also reached No. 1 on Rudy Treviño’s Tejano Gold Countdown with “Como Quieres Que Te Olvide,” while her song “Mujer Mexicana” earned Best Video honors at the South Texas International Film Festival.

Magali Delarosa has continued to explore visual storytelling through projects such as “Joaquín,” a music video inspired by 1940s zoot-suit and pachuco culture. With “Maldito Sea,” she once again demonstrates her interest in pairing music with distinctive imagery and a strong sense of style.

Her creative pursuits also include acting and filmmaking. With a background in theater, she has appeared in independent films spanning horror and action, including Fist of Justice, Ofrenda: Altar of the Dead, Black Clown 3: Rio Grande Valleyand Halloween Night. She has also stepped into producing, developing locally inspired film projects intended to showcase talent from the Rio Grande Valley.

Outside music and film, Delarosa operates her own fashion line, designs custom wardrobes for her visual productions, launched the Bésame Mucho lip gloss line and has authored children’s literature.

With “Maldito Sea,” Delarosa continues to expand her creative boundaries while bringing her musical and visual influences together in a project that celebrates individuality, artistic expression and the culture of South Texas.
