Two-time Latin Grammy nominee Gabriella Martinez has officially released her highly anticipated new single, “Tienes Suerte,” marking the Houston-based Tejano and Latin artist’s latest musical chapter.

Released Friday, August 28, “Tienes Suerte” invites listeners into a deeply relatable story about love, heartbreak and the struggle to let go of someone who still holds a place in your heart.

The new single explores the emotional contradiction of convincing yourself that you have moved on — promising yourself you won’t call, believing you’re finally over the relationship — only to realize that your heart hasn’t caught up.

At its core, “Tienes Suerte” is about missing someone and continuing to love them despite everything that has happened. The title, which translates to “You’re Lucky,” reflects the realization that the other person is fortunate because the love hasn’t completely disappeared.

Martinez first teased the song with a short video shared on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the emotional world behind the upcoming release before the song officially arrived.

Musically, “Tienes Suerte” showcases Martinez’s ability to connect Tejano’s traditional sound with contemporary Latin influences. The song incorporates accordion and keyboard-driven arrangements associated with classic Tejano while bringing in elements of pop, tropical music, cumbia, ranchera and vallenato.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Martinez moved to Houston to pursue her passion for Tejano music. With Colombian, Puerto Rican and Korean heritage, she brings a diverse cultural perspective to a genre that continues to evolve.

Her career has already earned major recognition. Martinez received consecutive Latin Grammy nominations for Best Tejano Album, earning nominations in 2024 for Siempre Gabriella and in 2025 for Yo No Te Perdí.

She has also been recognized at the Tejano Music Awards, winning Best New Female Artist and Best Music Video at the 44th Annual Tejano Music Awards.
