Gabriella Opens Her Heart on Emotional Mariachi Ballad ‘Ya Se Te Olvidó’

Rising Tejano and Latin artist returns with deeply personal ballad about heartbreak, healing, and finding strength through music

Rising Tejano and Latin artist Gabriella is wearing her heart on her sleeve with the release of her emotional new single, “Ya Se Te Olvidó,” a powerful ballad that dives deep into the pain of heartbreak and the journey toward healing.

The song captures the raw emotions of loving someone wholeheartedly, only to watch that love fade away. Through heartfelt lyrics and passionate vocals, Gabriella transforms personal pain into a relatable anthem for anyone who has experienced betrayal and heartbreak.

“Ya Se Te Olvidó” highlights the singer’s vulnerability while blending emotional storytelling with a modern Latin sound that balances sadness, strength, and resilience. The release marks an important new chapter for Gabriella, giving fans a more intimate look into her personal experiences and artistic growth.

“This song is incredibly personal to me,” Gabriella shared. “It’s about loving someone through everything and learning how to heal when they walk away. I hope anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak can hear this song and know they’re not alone.”

Gabriella later opened up even more about the inspiration behind the song, revealing that it was born from a painful chapter in her own life.

“For four years, I loved someone with all my heart,” she said. “I stood by his side, believed in him, and thought he would be my forever. But in the end, he was the one who broke my heart.”

Rather than letting the heartbreak consume her, Gabriella turned to music as an outlet for healing.

“That’s why ‘Ya Se Te Olvidó’ is so personal to me,” she added. “It reminds me what it feels like to be hurt by someone who forgot everything we built. But instead of letting the pain destroy me, I chose to heal through music.”

The song was written by acclaimed songwriter Angela Davalos and produced by Ulises “Uly” Lozano, combining emotional depth with polished production. After a year away from releasing new music, Gabriella’s return feels both honest and mature, showcasing her evolution as an artist and storyteller.

Beyond the emotional release, Gabriella continues to establish herself as one of the brightest rising stars in Tejano and Latin music. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, the Colombian-Boricua-Korean artist later relocated to Houston, Texas, to fully immerse herself in the Tejano music scene and pursue her passion for the genre.

Despite not growing up fluent in Spanish, Gabriella has quickly made a major impact in regional Mexican and Tejano music, with some media outlets even dubbing her Houston’s “Taylor Swift of Tejano.”

Her breakout success has already earned significant industry recognition. Gabriella received back-to-back Latin Grammy nominations for Best Tejano Album, first for her debut project Siempre Gabriella at the 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2024, followed by her 2025 six-track EP Yo No Te Perdí.

She also cemented her status as one of Tejano music’s fastest-rising talents by winning Best New Female Artist and Best Music Video at the 44th Annual Tejano Music Awards.

“I hope everyone who has ever had their heart broken can feel the emotion behind these words and sing along with me,” Gabriella said.

“Ya Se Te Olvidó” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Fans can also follow Gabriella on social media for upcoming performances, music releases, and future projects.
