Legendary Norteño and Conjunto icon Ramón Ayala is publicly responding to a series of lawsuits filed in Hidalgo County that accuse members of his organization of repeated sexual misconduct and abusive behavior spanning several years.

The The Buzbee Law Firm announced it will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. at the McAllen Convention Center to discuss ongoing lawsuits against Ramón Ayala y Sus Bravos del Norte, as well as individuals Ramón Ayala, Jr. and Ramón Ayala, Sr.

According to the law firm, the plaintiffs — identified in court filings as John Does #1, #2, and #3 — are former band members or crew members who allege repeated sexual assault and abusive conduct by Ramón Ayala, Jr. The lawsuits further claim that Ramón Ayala, Sr., the band, and affiliated companies were aware of the alleged conduct and allowed it to continue.

The allegations outlined in the lawsuits include claims of inappropriate touching, physical assaults, public nudity, aggressive behavior, drug use, and degrading acts allegedly committed against crew and band members. The lawsuits also allege that some of the incidents were captured on video and that entities associated with the band attempted to conceal the behavior to protect the group’s reputation and business interests.

The Buzbee Law Firm stated that “shocking video and photographic evidence” will be presented during the press conference, along with statements from the alleged victims.

Later that afternoon, at 1 p.m., Ramón Ayala, Sr. and his attorneys are expected to hold their own press conference at Payne Arena in response to what they describe as a “media campaign” intended to intimidate and pressure Ayala into settling what they called “frivolous civil lawsuits.”

In a public statement released ahead of the press conference, Ayala addressed fans directly while maintaining his innocence.

“Throughout my life and career, I have always conducted myself with humility, hard work, honesty, and respect for others,” Ayala stated. “I recognize that accusations of this nature are serious, and I have full confidence that the truth will come to light through due legal process.”

Ayala, who has spent more than six decades as one of the most influential figures in regional Mexican music, said the accusations have caused “deep pain” for his family, team, and supporters.

“At 80 years old, I continue working because music is my life, and because I remain deeply grateful for the love and support the public has given me throughout all these years,” he said.

He also thanked fans and colleagues for their support amid the controversy.

“I have always believed that truth, justice, and faith prevail, and I place my trust in God and in the legal process.”

The lawsuits remain pending in Hidalgo County District Court. No criminal charges related to the allegations have been announced at this time.

Both press conferences are expected to draw significant media attention across Texas and the regional Mexican music industry as the legal battle surrounding the iconic performer and his organization continues to unfold.
