San Antonio’s live music scene just got even louder—and more electrifying—with the addition of Llamativa to the inaugural Latido Festival lineup. The fast-rising, all-female ensemble is set to take the stage Friday, May 8 at Retama Park in nearby Selma, Texas, delivering what promises to be one of the night’s most dynamic performances.

Llamativa isn’t just another band—they’re a movement. Formed in 2023, the San Antonio-based, 8-piece Chicana/Latina powerhouse has quickly built a reputation as a must-see act across South Texas. Comprised of elite musicians—many with advanced music degrees—the group fuses Cumbia, Salsa, Tejano, Cha Cha, Bolero, and Baladas into a bold, high-energy sound driven by a commanding brass section and rhythms that hit deep.
Blending tradition with a modern edge, Llamativa is redefining expectations while honoring the roots of Mexican music. That balance has resonated with fans and critics alike, propelling the group onto bigger stages—including now, one of the most anticipated new festivals in the region.
The band shared their excitement directly with fans on social media:
“The cat is officially out of the bag!!! We are so stoked to announce that Llamativa is taking the stage for the first-ever Latido Festival right here in our own backyard! Mark your calendars for Friday, May 8th at 5:45 pm sharp at Retama Park. We’re bringing that all-female powerhouse energy to the home crowd alongside legends like Los Tucanes de Tijuana and La Mafia. San Antonio, let’s show them how we do it! Grab your tickets now and come represent with us.”
The debut of Latido Festival marks a major new chapter for Música Mexicana events in the Alamo City. Derived from the Spanish word for “heartbeat,” the festival aims to bring fans together in an open-air setting where music, culture, and community collide. Organizers are positioning the event as more than just a concert—it’s a full-scale cultural experience.
Headlining the night are norteño icons Los Tucanes de Tijuana, whose storytelling corridos have defined generations, alongside Tejano legends La Mafia. Also on the bill are rising regional stars Los Herederos De Nuevo León, representing the next wave of Música Mexicana.
Beyond the music, festivalgoers can expect a vibrant atmosphere complete with food vendors, cold beverages, and spacious outdoor areas designed for dancing, gathering, and celebrating with family and friends.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for VIP and 5 p.m. for general admission, giving attendees ample time to experience everything the festival has to offer before performances kick into full gear.
Tickets are currently on sale at LatidoFest.com and Del Bravo Record Shop in San Antonio, with early bird pricing starting at $49 for general admission and $99 for VIP packages, which include express entry, premium viewing, and exclusive drink options. Organizers note that limited-tier tickets are expected to sell quickly.
With a lineup that bridges legendary acts and emerging forces like Llamativa, Latido Festival is poised to establish itself as a cornerstone event in San Antonio’s music landscape—one that celebrates the heartbeat, heritage, and future of Música Mexicana.
