La Primera Dama of Tejano music, Elsa Garcia, delivered a powerful and unforgettable comeback at Tejano Fest at Gomez Western Wear Arena in Mesquite, marking her long-awaited return to the Metroplex after more than 25 years—and setting a new standard for Tejano live performances.
For over an hour, fans witnessed a masterclass in nostalgia, passion, and star power as Elsa performed the hits that defined a generation and cemented her legacy as a global Tejano icon, including classics like “La Luna Sera La Luna,” “Escapate Conmigo,” “Todavia,” and “Ya Te Vi.”
But this wasn’t just a concert—this was a perfectly executed comeback.

After stepping away from the spotlight for more than two decades, Garcia admitted she wasn’t sure what to expect when she returned to the stage in 2024. Her first major performance back—at a packed arena in Monterrey, Mexico—quickly erased any doubts.
“I said, ‘After 25 years, who’s going to remember?’” she recalled to The Bo Corona Show in a recent interview. “But that beautiful audience… they sang every single song with me all night long. It blew me away.”
And she’s just getting started.
The “Houston Sweetheart” has already teased a major surprise for her upcoming Las Vegas show this summer—one that could include special guest appearances or even the recording of a live album—raising the stakes even higher.
