The Quintanilla family is publicly responding to recent statements made by A.B. Quintanilla, with Marcella Quintanilla and her daughter, Suzette Quintanilla, strongly denying what they describe as false and damaging allegations involving their family.

In a joint statement shared on social media, Marcella and Suzette addressed claims concerning an alleged lawsuit involving Suzette, accusations of financial wrongdoing and comments they believe cast doubt on the legacy of the late Abraham Quintanilla.

The statement begins by explaining why Marcella, who has generally kept private family matters away from the public, decided to speak out.

According to the mother and daughter, they felt a public response was necessary because the statements involve Suzette, Abraham and the Quintanilla family.

“Because it contains serious and false insinuations concerning Suzette, Abraham, and our family, we feel it is necessary to correct the record.”

Quintanillas Question Alleged Lawsuit

A central point in the response concerns A.B.’s claim that a lawsuit involving Suzette exists and that a legal process began several months ago.

Marcella and Suzette say Suzette has never been served with a lawsuit related to the allegations described by A.B. They also state that Suzette has received no court-filed complaint, summons, petition or other legal pleading concerning the matter.

The family says they searched available public records for the lawsuit referenced by A.B. but, at the time of their statement, had been unable to locate a publicly filed case matching his description.

They challenged A.B. to provide additional information about the alleged legal action.

“So, we ask a simple question: What lawsuit? Where was it filed? What is the case number?”

The Quintanillas emphasized that their comments represent their position regarding the alleged lawsuit and that they have not been presented with the legal documents A.B. referenced.

Family Denies Theft and Financial Misconduct Claims

The joint statement also strongly rejects allegations or insinuations that Suzette improperly took money or property.

Marcella and Suzette stated that Suzette has not stolen, misappropriated or improperly taken money or property belonging to A.B., Abraham, Marcella, Chris Pérez, Selena’s estate or any family-owned or jointly owned business.

“There was no theft by Suzette.”

The family also addressed speculation surrounding Selena’s personal belongings.

According to Marcella and Suzette, Suzette is not selling and has no intention of selling Selena’s personal belongings.

They added that any potential sale involving an ownership interest in a company would be separate from Selena’s personal possessions and should not be portrayed as a sale of Selena’s personal items.

Defending Abraham Quintanilla’s Memory

Another major portion of the statement focuses on the late Abraham Quintanilla, the patriarch of the family and father of A.B., Suzette and Selena.

Marcella said she felt particularly compelled to respond because implications involving her late husband could leave the public with questions about a man who is no longer alive to address them himself.

The family said they are unaware of any wrongdoing by Abraham that would support what they believe A.B. appears to be suggesting.

“If A.B. has evidence that Suzette stole or misappropriated anything, he should present it.”

The statement continues by challenging A.B. to clearly identify any allegations involving Abraham rather than leaving the public to speculate.

“If he is alleging wrongdoing by Abraham, he should clearly state what he is alleging rather than leaving the public to speculate about a man who is no longer here to respond for himself.”

Quintanillas Say They Do Not Want to Fight on Social Media

Despite the strong response, Marcella and Suzette said they are not interested in attacking or humiliating A.B. or publicly revisiting decades of family history.

“We have no interest in attacking A.B., humiliating him, or litigating decades of family history through social media.”

They said they chose to respond because the allegations and implications had already been made publicly and remaining silent could be interpreted as agreement.

“Silence should not be mistaken for agreement with statements that are false.”

The family also emphasized that their response does not erase their relationship with A.B.

“We love A.B. He is our son and brother.”

However, Marcella and Suzette added that loving a family member does not require them to accept what they believe are false accusations or remain silent while their reputations are questioned publicly.

Protecting Selena’s Legacy and the Family’s Name

The Quintanillas concluded their statement by reaffirming their commitment to protecting their family, Abraham’s memory and Selena’s legacy.

The public dispute comes as the Quintanilla family name continues to remain closely connected to Selena’s enduring cultural impact and the legacy of one of the most influential families in Tejano music.

For now, Marcella and Suzette’s response represents their side of the dispute, while questions surrounding the alleged lawsuit and the claims made by A.B. remain part of an increasingly public family conflict.
