The 43rd annual Tejano Music Awards, the biggest night for Tejano music and culture, has added more stellar performers to its lineup. Isabel Marie Sanchez, Grupo Asalto, Suenatron, and Paula Deanda will take the stage at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Isabel Marie Sanchez is a rising star in the Tejano scene, with five albums under her belt and multiple nominations and awards. She is known for her powerful vocals and her versatility in genres such as cumbia, ranchera, pop, and mariachi.
Grupo Asalto is an emerging band based in Snyder, Texas, that plays Tejano and conjunto music. The band is led by Jordan Rodriguez, a young singer and accordionist who started his musical career at the age of 14. Grupo Asalto aims to win the hearts of Tejano and conjunto fans with their combination of traditional Tejano sounds with modern influences.
Suenatron is a musical project that fuses Tejano, cumbia, electronic, and hip-hop elements. The California-based group consists of the Hernandez brothers who are sons of Hernan Hernandez, the legendary member of Los Tigres del Norte.
Paula Deanda is a singer and songwriter who rose to fame with her pop and R&B hits in the mid-2000s. She has since embraced her Tejano roots and has released songs in Spanish and English that showcase her vocal range and style.
They will join previously announced performers Siggno, Joe Lopez, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, and Angelica Y Moneda, who will also grace the stage at the Boeing Center. The event, which is organized by the Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), will honor the best in Tejano music across various categories, such as Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year.
The Tejano Music Awards is considered the most prestigious and longest-running event dedicated to Tejano music, which originated in Texas and combines elements of Mexican folk music, German polka, country, and blues. The event attracts thousands of fans every year, as well as media coverage from local and national outlets.
