When country music royalty met the king of Tejano soul in the summer of 1976, television magic was made. On an episode of Dolly Parton’s nationally syndicated variety show, Dolly!, Tex-Mex legend Freddy Fender joined the host for a historic, cross-cultural rendition of his signature #1 hit, “Before the Next Teardrop Falls.”
