SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Ricardo Castillón y La Diferenzia are officially entering a new chapter in their storied career with the signing of a new agreement with RegioMex Music, signaling another major step forward for the iconic Tejano group.
The partnership comes as the group continues to build on the momentum of its celebrated comeback, expanding its music, live performances and connection with longtime and new fans while preparing for the next era of releases and projects.
“We’re also proud to begin this new chapter under new management & booking, with an amazing team behind us as we continue to grow and take our music and live shows to the next level,” the group shared in an announcement.
“To all of our fans who continue to support us, THANK YOU! Everything we do is for YOU, and we look forward to bringing you our very best.”
A New Era for La Diferenzia
Ricardo Castillón y La Diferenzia became one of the defining groups of the Tejano music movement of the 1990s, earning a reputation for high-energy cumbias, heartfelt ballads and a versatile sound that incorporated mariachi and merengue influences.
The group scored major hits including “Linda Chaparrita,” “Mundo Sin Guitarras” and “Si Lo Quieres,” establishing a catalog that continues to resonate with Tejano fans.
After returning to the spotlight, Castillón and La Diferenzia introduced their highly anticipated comeback album, Renacimiento del Phoenix. The project represented more than a return to recording—it symbolized the group’s resurgence, personal growth and determination to continue moving forward.
That comeback has been met with significant recognition.
At the Premios Tejano Mundial 2026, Renacimiento del Phoenix earned Album of the Year, highlighting the group’s ability to preserve its classic Tejano identity while adding a modern edge to its sound.
The group also won Cumbia Song of the Year for “Preciosa” and Progressive Song of the Year for “Que Tropieza,” further establishing La Diferenzia as a force in today’s Tejano scene.
Their resurgence reached another major milestone when Ricardo Castillón y La Diferenzia were named Entertainer of the Year at the 45th Tejano Music Awards.
New Music on the Way
The group is not slowing down.
During an appearance on Domingo Live, Castillón revealed that La Diferenzia is working in the studio on a special collaborative album that will revisit some of the group’s legendary songs.
The project will feature new interpretations of past hits while adding what Castillón described as the group’s signature “Diferenzia twist.”
The upcoming project adds another layer of anticipation to the group’s new partnership with RegioMex Music and its continued expansion into the next phase of La Diferenzia’s career.
