Several Tejano stars will donate their time to support a free Uvalde’s Day Back To School event for the community of Uvalde, Texas, on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Jaime DeAnda, Sunny Sauceda, Mike and The Iconiczz, The Homeboyz, Gabriella Martinez, Alize Nino, and Stephie Mtz, are scheduled to perform at the event which includes family entertainment, food, bounce houses, snow cones, raffles, and free haircuts.
Free haircuts will be given by Rob the Original, a social media influencer, artist, and barber shop owner in San Antonio. He is known for his creative hair art and his ability to create portraits with all mediums.
The event aims to help collect school supplies to support teachers of Uvalde for the upcoming school year and continue the healing process for the community that experienced a tragedy on May 24, 2022, when a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers and injured 17 others at Robb Elementary School.
“We wanted them to have a day before school starts to have fun with their families,” co-event organizer Lisa Golden tells Tejano Nation.
Uvalde’s Day Back To School is a free event that will take place at the Uvalde County Fair Plex, 215 Veterans Lane, from 8 am – 7 pm. For more information, contact Sal Ybarra at 210-427-0080 or Lisa Golden at 830-353-7567, or email uvaldesday@gmail.com.
