Amanda Solis Unveils Custom Jacket Ahead of White Sox Hispanic Heritage Night Performance in Chicago

Amanda Solis is getting ready for a special night in Chicago — and she is doing it in style.

The Houston-based Tejano and Latin pop artist has revealed a one-of-a-kind custom jacket created specifically for her upcoming performance during the Chicago White Sox Hispanic Heritage Night on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Solis will bring her Ultimate Selena Experience to the field at Rate Field for a pregame performance ahead of the White Sox matchup against the Colorado Rockies. The White Sox officially list Hispanic Heritage Night for September 25 at 6:40 p.m. CT, with a special ticket package featuring a commemorative T-shirt and Lotería experience. 

For Solis, however, the evening represents much more than another performance.

A Custom Jacket Made for a Special Moment

Solis recently shared the reveal of her custom White Sox jacket, created through a collaboration with Patch Collection in Houston.

The sparkling piece incorporates White Sox-inspired elements, baseball imagery and Solis’ personal style, including a microphone and flower detail. She also revealed that she worked with Shotty’s Jerseys in Del Rio, Texas, which created three custom jerseys for her Chicago performances.

“A HUGE thank you to Patch Collection for reaching out to me and wanting to collaborate on something so special!” Solis shared. “They custom made and gifted me this AMAZING jacket specifically for me to wear during the Chicago White Sox Hispanic Heritage Month celebration!”

Solis said she and Patch Collection exchanged ideas, details and inspiration throughout the process before creating the final design.

“This isn’t just a jacket… it’s a one-of-a-kind piece that I’ll have FOREVER,” she said.

The September 25 performance will also mark the first time she wears the jacket publicly.

Returning to the White Sox

The upcoming performance marks Solis’ second invitation to perform for the White Sox.

In a social-media video, Solis reflected on her previous appearance in Chicago, when she threw out the ceremonial first pitch and performed on the field.

She explained that returning this time carries an emotional significance because her longtime manager, who was with her during that previous White Sox appearance, has since passed away.

“This is definitely going to be a bittersweet moment for me,” Solis said in the video. “The fact that last time my manager was alive at that time and she won’t be with me for the second time, I never even knew that I was going to be able to have this chance again.”

Solis became emotional while discussing the memory before turning her attention back to the upcoming performance and her excitement about reconnecting with Chicago fans.

The Ultimate Selena Experience

Solis will perform her Ultimate Selena Experience during the White Sox pregame festivities, bringing her tribute to Selena Quintanilla to a Chicago baseball audience.

She said she will hit the field for the pregame presentation and encouraged fans to arrive early for the performance.

“I’ll be performing PRE-GAME on the Rate Field for the Chicago White Sox Hispanic Heritage Night on September 25th,” Solis announced. “And yes… I’ll be bringing you the ULTIMATE SELENA EXPERIENCE right there on the field at 6:40pm.”

The White Sox are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Night as part of the 2026 season’s heritage programming. The event also includes a commemorative T-shirt and Lotería experience through the special ticket package.

For Solis, the performance represents another opportunity to celebrate the artist who helped inspire her own musical journey.

From Selena Tribute Artist to Recording Artist

Solis first gained attention as a Selena tribute artist, developing a performance that celebrates Selena’s music, fashion and cultural impact while building her own identity as a recording artist.

Tejano Nation previously documented Solis’ transition from tribute artist to original artist in its feature “Amanda Solis: From Selena Tribute to Space Vaquera.” In that interview, Solis discussed her original music and her debut album, Space Vaquera.

Released in 2024, Space Vaquera established a new chapter for Solis, blending elements of Tejano, cumbia, regional Mexican music, Latin pop and electronic production. Tejano Nation has described her sound as a fusion of traditional Latin roots with contemporary pop and electronic influences.

Her musical evolution has allowed Solis to move beyond simply being known for her resemblance to Selena, while continuing to honor the legacy of the late Tejano icon. Selena’s influence was an important part of her own artistic path.

Space Vaquera and a Growing Original-Music Catalog

Solis introduced Space Vaquera with “To’a La Noche,” an upbeat cumbia that became the first single from the project. The song was written by La Machy and produced by Daniel “Smoke Beatz” Blanco.

The album continued to showcase Solis’ interest in combining Tejano and regional Mexican traditions with contemporary production.

Among her subsequent releases was “Mi Otra Mitad,” an emotional ballad and the third single from Space Vaquera. The song blends cumbia rhythms, contemporary pop production, accordion and requinto guitar, with Smoke Beatz handling production. 

Tejano Nation also covered the release of “Cumbia!”, a retro-inspired track and music video from Space Vaquera. Solis described the song as a celebration of her Latin roots, Houston upbringing and cumbia, combining traditional rhythmic elements with electronic pop sounds.

The video features Solis and The Space Vaqueros, the band associated with her original music, in a colorful 1980s-inspired concept.

Solis has also continued releasing new music beyond her debut album. Her original catalog has become an important part of her development as a Tejano and Latin pop artist, complementing the Selena tribute performances that introduced her to a wider audience.

“Bom Bum” and the Next Chapter

Solis has also been working toward her next musical chapter, with “Bom Bum” identified as a single from her upcoming album.

The song carries a deeply personal story. Solis has explained that its origins trace back to a Chicago airport stop with her late manager, Jessica Martinez. Inspired in part by Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” and the sound of Selena’s “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” the track developed into an upbeat cumbia that Solis considers a tribute to Martinez.

The song reflects the direction Solis has been pursuing — connecting generations through cumbia and Latin pop while maintaining her Texas and Tejano roots.

A Career Built Around Selena — and Her Own Voice

Solis’ work continues to occupy an interesting space within today’s Tejano and Latin music landscape.

She is simultaneously preserving the memory of one of Tejano’s most influential artists through the Ultimate Selena Experience while establishing an original identity through her own recordings.

That balance has also led to unique projects, including a 2026 collaboration with University of Texas at Austin designer Matthew Smith, who recreated several of Selena’s iconic stage costumes for a master’s thesis project. Solis performed in the recreated outfits as part of the project, describing the experience as a way to bring the costumes to life on stage. 

Her journey from Selena tribute artist to recording artist has become a recurring theme in her career.

Now, she is bringing both sides of that artistic identity to Chicago.

Houston to Chicago

For Solis, the custom jacket is more than a performance outfit. It represents a collaboration between Texas businesses, a return to a venue that holds personal memories and another opportunity to share Selena’s music with a new audience.

“Houston to Chicago… this jacket is ready for its debut!” Solis said.

She also gave fans a glimpse at the custom piece in a social-media video, admiring its details and pointing out the baseball-inspired design.

“Look how amazing this came out,” she said. “They made this for me to wear for the White Sox games.”

Solis will pair the jacket with one of the three custom jerseys created by Shotty’s Jerseys as she takes the field for the Ultimate Selena Experience.

“Chicago, this one is going to be SPECIAL!” Solis shared. “I cannot wait to see all my people, feel that Chicago energy, and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month together!”

The Chicago White Sox Hispanic Heritage Night is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, with the game against the Colorado Rockies beginning at 6:40 p.m. CT. The White Sox list the special Hispanic Heritage Night ticket offer as sold out on their official site as of September 24.
