Known as “Texas Music Royalty,” Laura Linda will attend the awards ceremony November 8 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, where she will compete for the honor alongside Johnny y Los Texas Plowboys, Sunny Sauceda, Tejas Brothers, and Tex Mex Hippies.

The recognition comes during her first year as a Texas Country Music Association music member, making the Top-5 finalist selection a significant milestone in a career that has crossed musical genres while maintaining strong roots in South Texas.

Laura Linda’s musical journey began in country music. At just 21, she fronted Laura Linda and Texas Gold Rush before choosing to embrace the growing Tejano music movement in South Texas rather than pursue opportunities in Nashville.

She subsequently formed a new band and introduced Tejano audiences to songs including “Sufro Por Ti,” “Por Ti” and “Mio Siempre Mio.” Her growing popularity led to appearances on The Johnny Canales Show and Domingo Live, helping establish her presence in the Tejano music scene.

After stepping away from recording for more than two decades, Laura Linda returned in 2019 with “Quitame Ese Hombre,” which earned recognition as a Song of the Year finalist at the Tejano Music Awards.

She continued her Tejano comeback in 2023 with the release of Cantos del Corazón, a six-song Spanish-language EP produced under the direction of multiple Grammy-winning producer Gilbert Velasquez.

In recent years, Laura Linda has also returned to her country music roots, releasing three original singles that showcase another side of her musical identity: “Honey Boy, Honey Girl,” “Rise Up and Shine,” and “Unbroken.”

Her country music work has also earned industry recognition. At the 2025 Texas All Star Music Awards, she received honors for Best Female Entertainer and Best Video for “Honey Boy, Honey Girl.”

Her Top-5 finalist placement at the 2026 TCMA Awards highlights the crossover appeal of an artist whose career has connected country music and Tejano while continuing to represent her South Texas roots.

The 2026 Texas Country Music Awards will take place November 8 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, bringing together artists and industry professionals to recognize achievements across the Texas country music community.
