SAN ANTONIO, TX — A new festival rooted in the heartbeat of Música Mexicana is set to make its debut in San Anotnio next week. The inaugural Latido Festival will take over Retama Park on Friday, May 8, promising an unforgettable night of live music, culture, and community.

Derived from the Spanish word for “heartbeat,” Latido Festival is designed as an open-air experience where fans can gather, dance, and celebrate the rhythms and traditions that define generations of Música Mexicana. The all-ages event will feature a dynamic blend of corridos, norteño, and cumbia, creating an atmosphere organizers describe as more than just a concert—it’s a full-scale festival experience.
Headlining the inaugural lineup are norteño legends Los Tucanes de Tijuana, whose storytelling corridos have made them icons on both sides of the border. Joining them are Tejano giants La Mafia, known for their romantic hits and global influence, alongside rising stars Los Herederos De Nuevo León, who continue to carry the torch for the next generation of regional Mexican music. The show begins with Llamativa, the San Antonio-based, 8-piece Chicana/Latina powerhouse which fuses Cumbia, Salsa, Tejano, Cha Cha, Bolero, and Baladas into a bold, high-energy sound driven by a commanding brass section and rhythms that hit deep.

Organizers emphasize that Latido Festival is built around community as much as music. Attendees can expect a vibrant festival environment complete with cold beverages, diverse food options, and spacious outdoor areas designed for fans to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories with family and friends.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for VIP and 5 p.m. for general admission, giving festival goers plenty of time to soak in the full experience before the evening’s performances take center stage.
Tickets are currently on sale at LatidoFest.com and Del Bravo Record Shop in San Antonio, with early bird pricing starting at $49 for General Admission and $99 for VIP access. VIP packages include express entry, premium viewing areas, and exclusive drink offerings. Organizers note that these limited-tier tickets are expected to sell quickly, with prices increasing once they are gone. Bottle service tables and group packages are also available.
