Downtown Waxahachie will come alive on Saturday, May 2, 2026, as the Ellis County Hispanic Organization (ECHO) hosts its annual Cinco de Mayo Festival, a full-day celebration of Mexican heritage, music, and culture. Running from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the free, family-friendly event promises an unforgettable experience for the entire community.
This year’s celebration includes “La Dueña” of Tejano music, Stefani Montiel, who will take center stage as part of the festival’s star-studded lineup. Known for her powerful voice and lasting influence in Tejano music, Montiel’s performance is expected to be one of the day’s biggest highlights.
The festival will feature a stacked lineup of talent, including headliners De Parranda, along with JR Gomez, Conjunto Cats, Josh Baca, and Sammy Garcia, delivering nonstop entertainment throughout the day. Adding even more excitement, the event will showcase the Waxahachie Accordion Shootout, featuring standout performances by JR Gomez, Conjunto Cats, and Josh Baca in a must-see musical showdown celebrating the heart of conjunto sound.

Festivalgoers can also enjoy vibrant folklórico dance performances, highlighting traditional Mexican culture through colorful costumes and high-energy routines. Beyond the stage, attendees can explore a wide variety of attractions, including authentic Mexican food vendors serving favorites like tacos and churros, along with an artisan market featuring handcrafted goods and cultural artwork.
Families will find plenty of entertainment in the dedicated children’s area with games and inflatables, while car enthusiasts can check out a display of classic and custom vehicles. Alcoholic beverages will be available for guests 21 and over.
With free admission and a rich blend of music, culture, and community pride, the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Waxahachie is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting celebrations in North Texas this year.
