After more than two decades apart, the powerhouse 1990s lineup of Los Chamacos — Roel Joslin, Eduardo “Chato” Ordoñez, and Hector Tello — has reunited, reigniting the unmistakable sound that helped define a golden era of Tejano music.
“One goal… Bringing back that solid drive, beat, and sound that Tejano fans loved, cherished, and most certainly have missed throughout the years,” the group shared in a statement. To the countless fans who have been asking for their return, Los Chamacos responded with heartfelt humor: “Yea…we missed us too.”
The trio first rose to prominence with the 1993 album Unrivaled, setting the stage for what would become the group’s most celebrated era. Throughout the 1990s, Los Chamacos headlined shows across the country, earned Grammy nominations, appeared on television, and carved their names into Tejano history with an explosive string of hits that showcased their “one band, one sound” energy. That signature combination ended in 1999, but its legacy has endured in the hearts of fans.
In 2018, following the departure of Jaime DeAnda, the band officially continued as Los Chamacos. Now, 25 years later, the original “Smash Hit Team of the 90s” is returning stronger than ever.
“Our only focus is to continue to work harder and keep the sound together as long as we can for all of our fans and new fans we hope to encounter,” the group stated. “You can also expect a much stronger approach from social media, recordings, live performances, and especially no more distractions, no more words, just simply music, music, and more music. Puro Chamacos. Puro Party.”
Los Chamacos are four-time Grammy nominees, two-time Latin Grammy nominees, three-time Gold Album artists, and Tejano ROOTS Hall of Famers. With gratitude to their fans and a renewed vision for the future, the reunited lineup is poised to restore the Chamacos’ legacy and reignite the Tejano flame for longtime followers and new audiences.
