Powerhouse vocalist Beatriz Gonzalez has released her long-awaited EP Sanando El Cora, a deeply personal five-song collection that showcases her vulnerability, resilience, and passion for storytelling through music.

Dropping across digital platforms, the project includes three original songs written by Gonzalez — Me Propuse, Qué Lástima, and Quédate — with the latter two already introduced as singles to give fans a preview of the EP’s Tejano/Norteño sound. Drawing inspiration from iconic groups like Pesado and Duelo, Gonzalez blends tradition with fresh musical elements that reflect her personal journey.

“This EP has been a long time coming,” Gonzalez shared with Tejano Nation radio host Romeo. “Some of these songs I wrote years ago, but it just wasn’t the right time. I’ve learned to flow with life and trust that music comes out when it’s supposed to.”

In addition to her originals, the EP features two translations that carry special meaning for the singer: Tattoo, originally an EDM track, and a Tejano/Norteño rendition of Post Malone’s global hit Better Now. “When I first heard Tattoo, it was during a time I really needed it,” Gonzalez explained. “Music is healing, and I wanted to see what it would sound like in Spanish. It ended up fitting perfectly into the theme of this project.”

She added, “Even the translations healed me in some way. These songs might not be mine originally, but they touched my life and made me realize a lot of things. That’s why they belong on Sanando El Cora.”

The EP title — Spanish for “healing the heart” — captures the essence of the project. “These songs helped me heal, and I hope they can do the same for others,” said Gonzalez. “I get messages from fans saying, ‘Your music helped me through my divorce’ or ‘helped me through heartbreak.’ Those real-life connections are why I make music.”

The production of Sanando El Cora was a collaborative effort with a small but talented team, including JJ Mendoza (mixing, mastering, engineering, and drums), Salomón Ramos (arrangements, accordion, bass, bajo sexto), and Gonzalez’s brother, Frank Gonzalez, who recorded bass in Mexico. Additional harmonies were provided by Elena Zarate.

“I always say quality over quantity,” Gonzalez emphasized. “It might be a small team, but the heart and talent they put into this project made it so special. I’m blessed to work with musicians who really listen and don’t let ego get in the way — it’s about the bigger picture.”

Released under her independent label, Palabra Records, the EP also marks a new chapter of creative freedom for Gonzalez. “Your word is everything,” she said of the label’s name. “If you can’t keep your word, what do you really have? For me, it also represents the Word of God, and that’s the foundation I want to build this journey on.”

With Sanando El Cora, Beatriz Gonzalez delivers not only music but also a message of strength and authenticity. “At the end of the day, I just want people to know it’s okay to be vulnerable, to heal, and to love yourself first,” she reflected. “These songs are pieces of my heart, but they’re for anyone who’s ever gone through pain and come out stronger.”
