The Texas-style black tie event at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, August 16, 2024, will feature live performances by the Network for Young Artists (NYA), as well as global and local music award-winning artists. The show will also feature a special tribute performance to Elvis Presley by David Escalante, and a theatrical performance by NYA, showcasing the diverse range of talent within our community.

The Lifetime Achievement, Honorarium, and Humanitarian Awards will be presented by celebrity presenters and local community leaders, acknowledging the significant contributions made by individuals in the Performing Arts Industry. The star-studded event will be hosted by founder and CEO Brandy Lopez and award-winning singer/songwriter and CEO Danny Farias, promising an evening of glamour and celebration.

“What we are going to be doing with the Pura Vida Awards, is bringing all the performing arts under one roof. From film, television, music, our poets, our writers, screen players, screenwriters, journalists, you name it, that’s what we want. Bringing everyone together.” said Lopez during a press conference. “We have so many great artists that are out there, a lot of great talent that we don’t even know of.”

“We’re surrounded by talent, major, major talent. And today is a historical day for all of us, and not just for our culture, but all cultures,” said Farias at the press conference.

Tickets for the event will be on sale online through the Tobin Center website and box office. The Red Carpet begins at 5:30pm, followed by a Social Hour from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The Awards begin at 7:30 pm. This is a Western and Black-Tie Event, so attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest attire.

The Pura Vida Awards is more than just an awards show. It is a celebration of the diversity, creativity, and excellence of the performing arts in San Antonio. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness history in the making and support the local talent that makes our city shine.

“It is about us leaving a legacy but mainly to open the doors to our youth. So, they can think about the importance of education and what they can do in life and have everything it takes to make a difference,” Lopez added.
