David Lee Rodriquez dropped the original Texas Country tune “My Lonely Days Are Gone (“Cause I Started Drinkin’),” the latest single from the Latin Grammy-nominated singer’s much-anticipated sophomore album Mon Amor, Mi Reina.
“I always tell people it’s a true story and if it’s not, it ought to be,” Rodriquez tells Tejano Nation. “It’s just a fun Country song. It has a good Texas Country feel to it, a good two-steppin’ feel and at the end, it’s one of those crowd participation type songs.”
The track was co-written by his 18-year-old son, David Rain Rodriquez, and produced by 18-time Grammy-winning producer Gilbert Velasquez.
“It’s a good song. I was really surprised that my song came up with the title and the melody of it,” added Rodriquez. “With that, we took off on it and within a matter of minutes we had the song complete.”
“My Lonely Days Are Gone (‘Cause I Started Drinkin’)” by David Lee Rodriquez and his sophomore album Mon Amor, Mi Reina is available to stream or download on all digital music platforms.
