Jay Perez released the official music video for his new single “Necesito Odiarte,” the first music video from “The Voice” in nearly 30 years.
“Wow! 30 years seems like a long time,” said Perez in a social media post. “Making this video for our fans was a lot of fun. I haven’t been this excited about my career since the early 2000s. I hope you guys enjoy watching our latest video as much as I enjoyed making it.”
“Necesito Odiarte” is the lead single from the highly-anticipated new album from Perez, scheduled for release in early 2023. The track was written by Eduardo “Eddie” Perez of Los Fabulosos fame, with production by Rolando Revilla Jr and Jay Perez band members Jonathan McGraw and Fabian Hernandez. Executive producers include The Martinez Brothers (Freddie Martinez Jr, John Martinez, and Marc Martinez).
The uptempo Tejano-style ranchera features amazing musicianship with an incredible vocal performance from Perez. “Necesito Odiarte” is built on a strong arrangement of layered keyboards, tasty accordion fills, a tight rhythm section, and a solid dance-ready backbeat.
