SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – KLRN announced an all-new season of its original series ¡SALUD!, featuring new host Melanie Mendez-Gonzales. The show highlights Hispanic women taking charge in the business world in San Antonio. Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Mendez-Gonzales will host conversations with prominent local women to discuss life in leadership. ¡SALUD! explores the lessons learned, challenges conquered, and barriers broken by strong Latina leaders in the community and beyond.
“I am excited to explore the stories and experiences that made these women into the leaders they are today,” said Mendez-Gonzales. “Although we come from a wide variety of backgrounds, we have so much in common when it comes to being Latinas in leadership.”
A proud seventh-generation Tejana, Mendez-Gonzales is the managing partner of MMG Media, LLC and founder of the award-winning blog Que Means What. She uses the digital media landscape to create and amplify stories about Latina leaders, representation of the Latino community, and her experiences as a Mexican-American exploring her own identity.
This season, viewers can see one-on-one interviews with Latina leaders including Erika Prosper, Judge Rosie Speedlin-Gonzalez, and national activist Dolores Huerta. Watch new episodes of ¡SALUD!, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. beginning September 8, on-air (KLRN channel 9.1) or streaming online at klrn.org/live.
¡SALUD! Is supported by Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
