Tejano Nation multimedia journalist Juan Morin received his second straight nomination for Best Local Writer at the fifth annual Support Local Music (SLM) Awards.
The SLM Awards recognizes Houston area music industry professionals for their contributions to the local music scene.
Morin has been covering the Tejano music scene in the Houston area for many years, winning Best Local Writer at the SLM Awards in 2019. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Morin joined Tejano Nation as a contributing multimedia journalist in 2019. He has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry as a personal assistant, media director, and social publicist.

In 2013, he launched his own platform One Morin Media, which delivered his trademark series “The Experience,” a mini-documentary production that gave viewers an all-access pass behind the scenes with various featured artists, including AJ Castillo and Lucky Joe. Many called It a unique visionary perspective to the genre of Tejano like never before. He was a media director for various other platforms and television shows including “Tejano Concerts” with Hector Rodriguez, who passed away suddenly in July 2019.
In 2017, he launched The Tejano Experience, which earlier this year morphed into Music, Musica Y Mas, a diverse and innovative entertainment platform bringing genres of music together to embrace and celebrate as one.
The 5th annual SLM Awards is scheduled to take place at Scout Bar, located at 18306 Egret Bay Blvd, in Houston, Texas on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Doors open at 7 pm for the 18 and up-aged event. Voting for all SLM Awards categories can be placed at SLM.buzz/voting.
