Andrea Sofía Revives Selena Classic ‘Siempre Estoy Pensando en Ti’ With Modern Tex-Mex Duet

Andrea Sofía is breathing new life into one of Tejano music’s most beloved duets with the release of “Siempre Estoy Pensando en Ti,” a new collaboration with Manu Rojas, guitarist and vocalist in her band. The single pays tribute to the classic song originally recorded by Selena y Los Dinos in 1992 alongside Pete Astudillo.

Written by A.B. Quintanilla III and Astudillo, the original recording became a memorable part of Selena’s musical legacy. Andrea Sofía and Rojas revisit the song with a modern Tex-Mex interpretation that preserves the rhythm, energy and flavor of early-1990s Tejano while introducing their own musical identity.

Rather than dramatically reinventing the classic, the new version stays true to the elements that made the original special. Electric guitar adds energy and depth to the arrangement, while the accordion brings a connection to the norteño roots of Monterrey, Mexico.

Rojas takes on the vocal part originally performed by Astudillo, creating a duet that also reflects the musical chemistry shared by the members of Andrea Sofía’s band.

“We wanted to sing it as a duet, with respect for the original and that timeless Tejano sound, but with today’s voices, so those who already know it can feel it again and those who don’t can discover it,” said Andrea Sofía.

Based in Monterrey, Mexico, Andrea Sofía is a modern Tex-Mex and norteño singer who has been performing since 2022. Her band features Manu Rojas on guitar and vocals, keyboardist Ángel Cantú, accordionist Edy Vega, bassist René García, drummer Jesús Cisneros, and percussionist Pity Medina.

The release of “Siempre Estoy Pensando en Ti” is part of a series of upcoming projects for the singer. Another single is scheduled to arrive in December, followed by a six-song EP planned for January 2027.

With this new recording, Andrea Sofía introduces a beloved Selena classic to a new generation while honoring the Tejano sound and musical legacy that continue to influence artists across the genre.
