Organizers of Vegas Tejano Music Week and the Tejano Music National Convention confirmed the dates of this year’s event for August and added new Tejano events in Sin City after last year’s event was canceled over COVID-19 concerns.
David Chavez, CEO of INGEÑUITY, took to social media to reveal the news on Wednesday (Mar. 10). “We are encouraged with the vaccine distribution and the recent announcements by the President that by the end of May there’ll be enough vaccine for everyone and we are closely monitoring the return of life to our new normal as well as the return of live events overall,” he said in a statement. “We are pleased to announce the return of Vegas Tejano Music events with four major dates to save.”
Vegas Tejano Music Week and the Tejano Music National Convention will take place on August 19 – 21, 2021 and Chavez said Tejano fans will be able to ring in 2022 with Tejano America New Year’s Eve on December 30 – 31, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also confirmed that the events are already planned for 2022, with Vegas Tejano Music Week set for July 7 – 10, 2022, and Tejano America New Year’s Eve on December 30 – 31, 2022.
The talent lineup and host casino will be announced over the next few weeks with tickets going on sale in April and tickets purchased for the 2020 event will be honored at any of the upcoming events or organizers will help resell the tickets.
“We’re ready to welcome back Tejano music to Sin City,” added Chavez. “For those that have lost loved ones like have, we hope to keep their memory alive by continuing to do the things for which they lived for, music, family, and culture, we will find a way to remember them in Vegas.”
The Tejano America web series launched in May 2020 will return with Season 2 this May. The web series showcases Tex-Mex music, food, and comedy in one entertainment-driven, cultural lifestyle series.
