Bobby Pulido Announces Final Concert in Hometown of Edinburg

EDINBURG, TEXAS —After over three decades of bringing his signature Tejano sound to audiences across the United States and Mexico, two-time Latin Grammy winner Bobby Pulido is preparing to take his final bow on the concert stage.

Pulido announced his final concert during a press conference in his hometown of Edinburg, Texas, revealing that “Bobby Pulido October 17th: La Última Desvelada” will take place Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Bert Ogden Arena.

The hometown farewell will mark the closing chapter of a career that began with the release of his breakthrough 1995 album Desvelado and helped establish Pulido as one of the defining artists of the 1990s Tejano movement. His decision to retire from performing follows his previously announced “Por La Puerta Grande” farewell tour and comes as he transitions his full-time focus toward public service and his campaign for Congress in Texas’ 15th Congressional District.

“There’s Only One Place I Want to Do It”

Speaking at the Edinburg press conference, Pulido said that after more than 30 years of performing, he wanted his final concert to take place where his story began.

“Every chapter eventually comes to an end. And today, I’m announcing my final show.”

Pulido said he specifically wanted to close his music career in Edinburg, the city where he was born and raised.

“There’s only one place I want to do it in my hometown of Edinburg, Texas.”

The singer emphasized that the event will not be a quiet farewell, but rather a celebration of the music, fans and people who have supported him throughout his career.

“This isn’t some quiet goodbye. We’re going to celebrate the music and the people who made all of this possible.”

Pulido also promised fans a night filled with music and surprises.

“So come celebrate with us. Come sing with us one more time. It’s going to be really fun. There’s a lot of surprises in store.”

From Desvelado to “La Última Desvelada”

Pulido’s career exploded onto the Tejano scene with Desvelado in 1995, introducing audiences to a young singer whose blend of Tejano, cumbia and contemporary regional sounds would become a signature of his career.

Over the years, songs such as “Desvelado,” “Enséñame,” “Le Pediré,” “Se Me Olvidó” and other fan favorites became part of the soundtrack for generations of Tejano music listeners.

His career has included numerous accolades and major performances throughout the United States and Mexico. Pulido’s musical accomplishments include two Latin Grammy Awards, cementing his place among the most recognized artists in Tejano music.

His final concert announcement follows a farewell chapter that has already taken him to audiences on both sides of the border. In 2025, Pulido performed what was billed as his farewell show in Mexico City as part of his retirement from music.

From the Stage to Public Service

Pulido’s retirement from music comes as he pursues a new career in politics.

The Edinburg native announced his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2025 and is running for Texas’ 15th Congressional District. His campaign identifies him as an award-winning Tejano artist who is now seeking elected office.

Pulido has frequently connected lessons from his decades as a performer with his approach to public service.

During his Edinburg press conference, he reflected on what he learned from performing for audiences for more than three decades.

“Being on stage is just as much about listening as it is about performing. You have to learn to read the room, know your audience, understand people, and never forget who you work for.”

He added:

“And I think public service should work the same way. You listen to the people, you show up, and you remember that it’s not about you. It’s about them.”

The October 17 event is also expected to have a civic and voter-outreach component, coming shortly before the November 2026 election. Recent coverage has documented Pulido’s use of concerts and other music-related appearances as part of his campaign activities.

One Last Night at Home

For Pulido, however, October 17 is first and foremost a homecoming and a farewell to the stage.

After years of traveling throughout Texas, Mexico and across the United States, he said he wants to share his final performance with the people of the Rio Grande Valley.

“We’re going to do it with our people, con mi gente. And we’re doing it big.”

The concert’s title, “La Última Desvelada,” is an especially fitting sendoff for an artist whose career was launched by the album and song that introduced Bobby Pulido to a generation of Tejano fans.

And while the singer is closing one chapter, he told those gathered at the press conference that he is looking forward to what comes next.

“That’s the lesson I’m taking with me from this stage to the next stage.”
