A spontaneous night of creativity has evolved into a new musical chapter for Roger V and Jenny V with the release of “Thinking of You,” a dynamic crossover single that blends the heart and soul of Tejano music with contemporary Country influences.
The song began with its Spanish-language predecessor, “De Estar Pensando En Ti,” a heartfelt composition written to capture the deep emotional connection and love shared between the two artists. Originally released on November 6, 2025, the song found its way to listeners across major digital platforms and connected with fans and supporters around the world.
Rather than simply revisiting the original recording, Roger V and Jenny V decided to give the song a fresh creative identity.
The result is “Thinking of You,” an English-language reinterpretation that expands the song beyond its original Spanish-language foundation while maintaining the emotion at its core. The new version embraces a distinctive combination of Tejano and Country, showcasing the artists’ versatility and willingness to explore new musical territory.
The project was developed under the guidance of Red Room Recordz, with creative direction from Greg Ramirez and John Anthony Vega. Their combined expertise helped Roger V and Jenny V reshape the original composition into a refreshed musical experience designed to reach an even broader audience.
At the center of “Thinking of You,” however, remains the same emotion that inspired the song in the first place.
Roger V’s Tejano Journey
For Roger V, the crossover into Country is another step in a musical journey deeply rooted in Tejano music.
Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, Roger V discovered his love for singing at an early age. Growing up listening to local radio stations, he developed a strong connection to the Tejano sound and the artists who helped define the genre.
Among his influences were Jay Perez, Emilio Navaira, Roberto Pulido, Bobby Pulido, Ricardo Castillón y La Differenzia, and many other Tejano performers.
Those influences ultimately inspired Roger V to pursue his own career in Tejano music.
His musical education also played an important role in his development. Roger V attended Texas A&M International University in Laredo, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Music, Education, and Liberal Arts.
In September 2024, Roger V took another significant step when he competed in Tejano Idol in Austin, Texas, finishing in second place. The competition also provided an opportunity for the Austin Texas Music Coalition to recognize the contestants and their contributions to the local music scene.
Now, with “Thinking of You,” Roger V is demonstrating that staying connected to his Tejano roots doesn’t mean limiting where his music can go.
A New Sound, Same Heart
“Thinking of You” represents a natural evolution for Roger V and Jenny V. By transforming the original Spanish-language song into an English-language Tejano-Country crossover, the artists have created a track that reflects both their musical versatility and their willingness to experiment.
The new recording serves as a bridge between genres, introducing the emotional storytelling of the original composition to listeners who may connect more strongly with English-language music.
For Roger V, the journey is about more than a single release. He continues to write music, develop his sound and pursue the dream that began in Eagle Pass.
As he continues moving forward, Roger V remains grateful to the people who have supported his musical journey and helped him pursue his aspirations.
With “Thinking of You,” Roger V and Jenny V are proving that a song born from a simple moment of inspiration can take on an entirely new life—and that the emotional language of music can cross both linguistic and genre boundaries.
