AUSTIN, Texas – Austin-based nonprofit organization Rancho Alegre will present the 2026 Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival (RACMF), July 10 through the 12 at the Doris Miller Auditorium in East Austin. The event is free admission and all ages are welcome. The event is indoors with air conditioning.
“It’s one of my life’s greatest honors to present Conjunto music – the music I and so many others grew up listening to – at the legendary Doris Miller Auditorium. It is one of Austin’s hidden gems, whose music legacy is unparalleled in a city where historic venues are disappearing every year. Ever since I was a kid growing up in East Austin, I’ve loved this building and its role in presenting black music when Austin was still segregated,” says Executive Director Baldomero “Frank” Cuellar.
“Now, for a few days every year, we get to turn this beautiful historic building into a classic family dancehall and bring Conjuntos from all over Texas to the same stage that welcomed such legends as Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Little Richard, and so many more.”
Talent Overview
Since its founding in 2012, the festival has brought over 100 different groups from all over the state to perform in the state capital. The lineups have included diverse talent featuring a showcase of regional styles from legends, veterans, up and coming groups, along with one-time only duets, and many special Tejano guests performing Conjunto style.
This year’s lineup also includes 2026 NEA National Heritage Fellow Belen Escobedo, who returns from last year’s lineup with her group, Panfilo’s Güera. The event end in grand fashion with a special guest appearance by Tejano superstar Gary Hobbs performing Conjunto style with standard bearer Gilberto Perez Jr. y Sus Compadres.
