The first wave of performers has been announced for the Forever Jimmy G Music Festival, returning to downtown San Antonio on March 14 at Milam Park, next to the historic Market Square.
The tribute festival is spearheaded by Mike Gonzalez, son of late Tejano icon Jimmy Gonzalez and bandleader of Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz, who revealed the initial lineup in a video shared on social media. The announcement marks a major milestone for the event, which is expanding into a touring festival set to travel across Texas—and potentially beyond.
Among the first confirmed artists are Tejano music legends David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales, Tejano icon Jay Perez, Conjunto favorites The Delta Boyz, and host band Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz.
“A lot of people have been asking me as far as the lineup goes,” Gonzalez shared. “The lineup is—I’ll give you part of it. Mike Gonzalez and The Iconiczz, David Lee Garza and Los Musicales will be on the bill. They’re already set in stone.”
He also confirmed the inclusion of The Delta Boyz, representing the 956.
“We have the Delta Boyz from the 956 Delta area. So the Delta Boyz are already set in stone. They’re going to be there,” he said. “Mr. Jay Perez is going to be on there as well. Contracts are signed, everything’s ready to go.”
Gonzalez emphasized that each act will deliver full-length performances worthy of the festival’s namesake.
“These bands that I just mentioned to you are going to play at least an hour,” he explained. “They’re not going to do 30 minutes. They’re going to play an hour because again, it’s the Jimmy G Music Festival. And if it was up to Jimmy G, you do it big.”
Three additional bands are expected to be announced soon.
“We’ve got three more bands that we’re confirming either by the end of this weekend, if not by next week,” Gonzalez added. “But if you really think about it, those four bands that I just mentioned—it’s already a good lineup.”
Fans can scan the QR code on the official festival flyer to purchase bracelets, while vendor spots remain available.
In the same video, Gonzalez also shared exciting news about the upcoming debut album from Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz, following the band’s signing with legendary Freddie Records last year.
“The Legacy Continues will be out in about two weeks,” Gonzalez said.
He praised lead singer Isaac Vidaurri and the team behind the project, including arranger Cris Perales and engineer Mariano Herrera at Freddie Records.
“It’s going to be a great album—not just because it’s ours—but because it’s a great album, period,” Gonzalez said.
The Forever Jimmy G Music Festival is an all-day, all-ages event, with gates opening at 11 a.m. and the first band taking the stage at noon. In addition to live music, attendees can enjoy food vendors, a kids play area, and the highly anticipated Jimmy G Museum, featuring rare memorabilia such as guitars, Grammys, stage clothing, and photographs celebrating the legendary career of Jimmy Gonzalez.
More lineup announcements and festival details are expected soon.
