The Tejano music community has five reasons to celebrate as The Latin Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, with five Tejano artists and groups earning nominations in the Best Tejano Album category.
This year’s nominees are Kevin Aguilar, Destiny Navaira, Jay Perez, Bobby Pulido and Vilax, representing a diverse collection of projects and artists from across the Tejano music landscape.
The Latin Recording Academy describes the Latin GRAMMY Awards as the preeminent international honor celebrating excellence in Latin music and the only accolade awarded by music industry professionals.
The Academy’s membership consists of music creators representing all genres and creative disciplines, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, recording engineers and mixers. Members participate in the Awards Process that determines the nominees and winners.

2026 Best Tejano Album Nominees
The five nominees for Best Tejano Album at the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards are:
Kevin Aguilar — Mi Gran Noche – Raphael En La Voz De Kevin Aguilar
Kevin Aguilar earns his nomination for Mi Gran Noche – Raphael En La Voz De Kevin Aguilar.
The project offers Aguilar’s interpretation of songs associated with legendary Spanish singer Raphael, bringing the material into the Tejano music category for his first nomination for Best Tejano Album.
Destiny Navaira — 3
Destiny Navaira is nominated for her album 3.
A prominent contemporary voice in Tejano music, Navaira continues the musical legacy of the Navaira family while establishing her own identity as a performer and recording artist.
Her second nomination for Best Tejano Album adds another major recognition to a career that has included multiple Tejano Music Awards honors.
Jay Perez — Le Seguiremos
San Antonio Tejano veteran Jay Perez earns a Best Tejano Album nomination for Le Seguiremos.
Known to fans as “The Voice,” Perez remains one of the established names in contemporary Tejano music, and his 2026 Latin GRAMMY nomination, his ninth nomination, places his latest project among the year’s five contenders for the category.
Bobby Pulido — Bobby Pulido & Friends Una Tuya y Una Mía (Vol. 2/En Vivo)
Bobby Pulido returns to the Best Tejano Album competition with Bobby Pulido & Friends Una Tuya y Una Mía (Vol. 2/En Vivo).
The nomination follows Pulido’s 2025 Latin GRAMMY win in the same category for Bobby Pulido & Friends Una Tuya y Una Mía (Vol. 1/En Vivo).
With the second volume of the live collaboration series now nominated, Pulido once again finds himself among the artists representing Tejano at the Latin GRAMMY Awards.
Vilax — Capítulo 8
Houston-based Tejano group Vilax rounds out the 2026 Best Tejano Album nominees with Capítulo 8, the band’s third nomination in this category.
The nomination recognizes another chapter in the group’s career and highlights the continued presence of contemporary Tejano bands within the Latin GRAMMY Awards.
60 Categories Represent the Diversity of Latin Music
The 2026 Latin GRAMMY nominees were selected in 60 categories, reflecting artists who released recordings during the eligibility period of June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026.
According to The Latin Recording Academy, songs considered for nominations must be new recordings and contain a minimum of 60% lyric content in Spanish, Portuguese or a native regional language.
The broad list of nominees represents artists working across numerous genres and musical traditions, with Tejano continuing to have its own dedicated category through Best Tejano Album.
Final Voting Begins October 1
The race for the 2026 Latin GRAMMY awards now moves into the final voting stage.
The final round of voting begins October 1, 2026, and is open to all active, voting members of The Latin Recording Academy. Those members will determine the winners across the 60 categories.
For the Tejano community, that means the final vote will determine whether Kevin Aguilar, Destiny Navaira, Jay Perez, Bobby Pulido or Vilax takes home the 2026 Latin GRAMMY for Best Tejano Album.
27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards Set for Las Vegas
The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will air live on Univision on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Additional broadcasting partners are expected to be announced at a later date.
For Tejano fans, the November ceremony will bring one of the genre’s most important annual showcases as five nominated projects compete for the Best Tejano Album honor.
The 2026 nominees — Kevin Aguilar, Destiny Navaira, Jay Perez, Bobby Pulido and Vilax — represent different generations, musical approaches and chapters of Tejano music, highlighting the genre’s continued evolution while maintaining its place within the broader Latin music landscape.
