Renowned for his captivating blend of emotive lyricism and vibrant musicality, two-time Latin GRAMMY winner Juan Treviño has released his highly anticipated new single, “Tengo Algo Pendiente.” The single is produced by fellow Latin GRAMMY winner Carlos H. Alvarez, who brings his expertise to this fresh, romantic track.
“Tengo Algo Pendiente” showcases Treviño’s signature style—a fusion of heartfelt lyrics and Tejano rhythms that resonate deeply with listeners. This latest release continues his tradition of crafting songs that delve into the complexities of love and longing, offering a poignant and relatable experience for fans.
In an interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Treviño shared details about the new single. “Well, the song is a ballad. I hadn’t released a ballad in maybe a year and a half or two, and I just wanted something different. When I wrote the song, it was actually a balseada. I was going to pitch it to a band, but I liked it so much that I kept it for myself and switched it to a ballad,” he explained.
Treviño also mentioned the unique country vibe of the track, which was enhanced by the collaboration with Kyle Everson from Nashville on steel guitar. “He has a studio over there now, and he just recorded and sent me the track. It’s just awesome,” Treviño said. Additionally, JC from Los Dorados played the drums, adding to the country feel of the song.
The song’s narrative revolves around a couple who shared a kiss while buzzing from a few drinks but never talked about it afterward. “The guy is asking like, hey, we need to talk about this because I know how you feel about me and how I feel about you,” Treviño explained. The track is part of Treviño’s next album, which he is taking his time to perfect and plans to release next year.
