Perla Ramos, a bass player and producer, has become one of the most recognized musicians in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) after having worked with Abraham Quintanilla during her time in the band La Conquista in the early 2000s. She is now determined to conquer the hearts and musical palettes of the people with her song “Sin El,” a cover by Mexican singer Marisela, written by Marco Antonio Solis, with a unique brand of cumbia that Perla is bringing to the Tejano market.
“I think all the Mexican moms know that song,” Ramos tells Tejano Nation. “Marisela is an important singer in Mexico. It’s a bunch of people that know this song but I bring my cumbia style in this song. I’m the producer of this song, so I’m so proud of it.”
Perla recorded the music for “Sin El” in her studio, aided by Sin Bandera guitarist Pavel Cal and it was mixed and mastered by well-known Monterrey producer Adrian Reyes.
“Having my special guest, that is Pavel Cal,” said Ramos. “He played the guitars in this song. Just the perfect addition to my song.”
“Sin El” is a catchy and upbeat song that will make you dance. The cumbia rhythm is infectious, and Perla’s bass playing is top-notch. The song has a fresh and modern sound that is sure to appeal to a wide audience. Perla’s unique brand of cumbia is a breath of fresh air in the Tejano market, and “Sin El” is just the beginning of what promises to be a long and successful career for this talented musician.
“I believe that my values is more close to the Tejano community,” said Ramos. “After 20 years of being part of La Conquista, working with Mr. Abraham Quintanilla, coming back again to the Tejano community and the music is, for me, I think the better decision and I’m so happy for this chance to show the people my music.”
This just the start of new music fom the talented musican and producer, who plans an original single featuring a duet with a well-known Tejano artist soon.
