Los Palominos revealed the cover art and release date for the Grammy-winning group’s highly-anticipated new album on Monday. El Orgullo de Uvalde (The Pride of Uvalde) will release worldwide on Friday, May 26, 2023, according to Freddie Records.
The album’s cover and details were shared on the legendary record label’s social media platforms.
This will be the first album released since Johnny Arreola left the group to record Christian music.
“We had to kind of regroup and figure out what we were going to do,” James Arreola of Los Palominos told Tejano Nation in an interview last year. “It’s different for us, of course, adjusting because we’re used to my older brother (Johnny) being the one in the middle and being part of the band. We’ve been playing together for 30-plus years. It’s been an adjustment.”
Los Palominos moved drummer Julio Arreola to accordion taking over for Johnny and added a new drummer, Danny Martinez.
The new album is expected to feature covers of classic songs like the two singles previously released by the three-time Latin Grammy-winning group including “Y Por Esa Calle Vive, a classic ranchera recorded by the popular grupero band Los Baron de Apodaca in 1981, and “No Le Digas A Nadie” is a classic song recorded by Los Humildes in the ’70s.
Expect the new album, El Orgullo de Uvalde, from Los Palominos on all digital streaming platforms and music retail outlets on Friday, May 26, 2023.
