Jennifer Peña and Obie Bermúdez revealed as latest celebrity couple for dance competition ‘Así Se Baila’

Telemundo revealed the latest celebrity couples to join the dance competition 'Asi Se Baila', premiering on Sept. 12.


Telemundo unveiled the second group of celebrity couples that will compete in its new and original dance competition, Así Se Baila, scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 12 at 8pm ET.


The renowned superstar Jacky Bracamontes, will host the competition along with the digital presenter Carlos Adyan, who will bring everything that happens behind the scenes, as well as exclusive access to the competition from a unique perspective.

The 10 celebrity couples will face off on stage every Sunday in front of the jury made up of stars Adamari López, Cristian de la Fuente, and Mariana Seoane, who will decide the couples that will continue to the next round of the rigorous competition. During each two-hour episode, the show brings together the best of Latin music and dance as couples compete to win the audience’s vote after their dream of being champions and exclaim ¡Así Se Baila!  

Joining the competition are:

  • Jennifer Peña and Obie Bermúdez – This talented couple is made up of two internationally recognized artists who went on to successful singing careers before joining in marriage. Peña has received numerous awards for his musical successes and has sold millions of copies internationally. In 2007, he married Bermúdez, a singer and songwriter known for his Latin pop and salsa style, which earned him a Latin Grammy for Best Male Vocal Album in 2005.
  • Elyfer Torres and Polo Monárrez – Recognized for their stellar participation in Telemundo’s primetime series “Betty en NY,” actress and singer Elyfer has also participated in other Telemundo productions, including “Enemigo Intimo” and “Los Miserables. ” Also, she had a special participation in the series “El Secreto de Selena”. With her will be her friend Polo Monárrez, a renowned Mexican conductor and actor who also had a participation in “Betty en NY”, in addition to other Telemundo series such as “La Suerte de Loli” and “El Señor de los Cielos.”
  • Kimberly Jiménez and Yasmany Rodríguez – Recently seen as one of the five finalists of the 69th edition of Miss Universe, Jiménez is a model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Dominican Republic 2020. She will share the stage with her fitness trainer, Rodríguez, a famous trainer who provides personal fitness coaching and advice, as well as owning a Miami-based gym franchise.
  • Adrian di Monte and Sandra Itzel – Known for their successful appearances in Telemundo productions such as “Señora Acero”, “Mi Corazón Insiste en Lola Volcán”, “Aurora” and “Who is Who?”, Di Monte is an actor and singer born in Cuba. He will be accompanied by Itzel, a renowned Mexican actress and singer, who is currently the vocalist of the musical group La Sonora Dinamita and who had a special participation in the successful Telemundo series “El Señor de los Cielos”.

These couples join previously announced couples that include: Laura Flores and Gabriel PorrasLorenzo Méndez and Jessica DíazGregorio Pernía and Luna PerníaDavid Chocarro and Carolina Laursen, and Samadhi Zendejas and Adriano Zendejas.

Telemundo will soon announce more couples joining Así Se Baila.

The show’s host, Jacky Bracamontes, is one of the most important figures in Latin American entertainment. The Mexican star who recently hosted the live broadcast of Miss Universe and the “Latin American Music Awards,” was part of the star cast of the hit primetime series “La Suerte de Loli.” Bracamontes joined Telemundo to host “Viva el Mundial y Más,” a program that aired during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, and hosted both seasons of “La Voz”. Throughout her career, she has hosted successful programs and specials, as well as starring in soap operas such as “Las Tontas No Van al Cielo”, “Heridas de Amor” and “Sortilegio”, among others.

Así Se Baila is an original Telemundo dance competition that will showcase 10 celebrities on the dance floor with their favorite partner, be it a married couple, siblings, best friends, and even parent-child duos. Featuring a diverse range of Latin music genres, accompanied by spectacular choreography, each pair will take the stage each Sunday to face a dance challenge like no other, in order to stay in the competition and enter the next round. Viewers will be able to witness the emotional and moving process of these personalities as they overcome a series of challenges, routines, and workouts to become the best dance partner. Every Sunday, the jury will evaluate their submissions, but in the end, the vote of the audience will determine which will be the winning couple who will exclaim ¡Así Se Baila!

Produced entirely in a state-of-the-art studio located in Telemundo Center, Así Se Baila is an original Telemundo production executive produced by Francisco “Cisco” Suarez, Executive Vice President of Primetime Non-Scripted Programming, along with Macarena Moreno as executive producer.
