Elida Reyna Y Avante are currently on their Elida’s Block Party Tour and the Latin Grammy-winning group performed this past weekend, but one member of Avante was noticeably absent from the show, bassist Lorenzo “Papo” Banda.
The Latin Grammy-winning musician and producer gave fans an update via social media on Saturday as to his absence.
“A lot of people are calling me asking me, ‘What’s going on? Why were you not with the band?’ This and that. I’m going through COVID right now and I’m almost out of the woods and hopefully this week I’ll be cleared to hit the road again with my family (Avante),” he said in the video.
“I just wanted to share that with friends, family, and fans since I hadn’t told anybody,” he continued. “I’m doing great, doing a lot better, just waiting to get cleared.”
Banda is scheduled for another COVID-19 test on Wednesday and hopes to rejoin the band on tour.
