The current COVID-19 pandemic has kept Tejano stars at home and many are using that time to record new music, including Rick Fuentes, leader of the next generation of The Brown Express.
A duet with his wife Monica Fuentes for a segment of the Tejano America web series has turned into a single receiving airplay for the duo after the video of the in-home performance received many views via social media.
“The video just took off,” Rick Fuentes told Tejano Nation. “A lot of people were liking it and we got a whole ton of views.”
The pair performed “Me Dan Ganas De Ti”, a song originally recorded by late Tejano music legend Laura Canales.
“We did it our way,” Rick said. “We kind of changed the arrangements a little bit.”
Rick Fuentes added he’s producing an album for his wife’s band, Monica Y Grupo Mezcal, as well as the next album for The Brown Express and many other projects.
“Me Dan Ganas De Ti” from Rick and Monica Fuentes is available now at all major digital music platforms.
