La Distancia released the official music for their single “Regreso Mi Amor.”
The visual, directed and edited by La Distancia’s Augustine Chavez, was filmed in San Marcos, Texas at an empty parking garage on the campus of Texas State University.
“The idea and goal is to bring honesty and naturalism back to the viewers without the excess use of special effects,” Chavez told Tejano Nation about the video. “We want to make videos that people can connect with and get a sense of enjoyment without losing imagery quality.”
“Regreso Mi Amor” is part of the band’s sophomore album Kumbavision and talks about lost love that suddenly returns.
“People have different experiences when they fall in love, but for some, love turns your world upside down where nothing makes sense anymore”, Chavez told Tejano Nation. “She went away, and his world has began to make sense again. He realizes he can never have her and must let go, and in doing so, everything returns to normal as he knew it before he fell for her. But then, she has come back into his life and his world is upside down once again.”
The San Marcos, Texas-based band is known for their perfect blend of rancheras and cumbias. Their versatility, excitement and energetic stage presence have been entertaining fans since their debut in 2000. Laura Ann was nominated for Best New Female Artist at the Tejano Music Awardsin 2014.
