Anjelique and The Sweet City Band are working on their next album and shared news and photos of a weekend studio session in San Antonio.
Anjelique posted the photos and details of the weekend studio session at Slackmonster Studios on her Facebook page. It included news of a duet “that hits real close to home” with Shelly Lares and a country track “with muscle” produced by Jason Martinez of Grupo Vida.
“Wow! What an amazing weekend!! Thank you to God for blessing us with a great productive weekend, as well as, all the people involved making this weekend a success. To the Sweet City Band members Sammy Jr, Esteven Cerda, Joe Garza, and Jimmy Garcia for sacrificing a weekend to get this project done. To Jason Martinez for writing and producing a hot HOT country song with “muscle”, to Shelly for singing this duet with me that hits real close to home, and to Severo Contreras for putting up with us. We feel very honored to be the first band to record at his new location. Anjelique fans this is going to be a great CD. I can’t wait for all to hear it!!”
This isn’t the first time Anjelique has worked with Shelly Lares. “Little Miss TNT” produced hit single “La Otra” last year and Anjelique talked about working with the Tejano Hall Of Famer in an interview with Tejano Nation Radio.
“Shelly Lares has done tremendous awesome work, very talented person,” Anjelique said. “I’m so glad we chose her and she chose us to work with. I just hope this brings new opportunities and future endeavors. This is not the only song we’ll be releasing that we’re collaborating with her, at least three.”
