Tejano newcomer Cortney announced on Tuesday (Nov. 7) she’s five months pregnant and gave details on why she waited to share the news with fans.
The singer, who released her solo debut single “Pedire” in August, made the announcement via Facebook Live.
“Yes, I’m five months pregnant,” she said. “The reason I decided to wait to let everybody know about my pregnancy is because it wasn’t recommended since I had my single coming out…I’m really excited, I feel relieved, it was a stress relief. I guess I thought my fans wouldn’t follow me if they found out I was pregnant…since I’m a new upcoming artist, it kind of made me nervous to tell my fans.”
This will be the third child for Cortney and her husband. She added the baby boy is due in March and she’ll be releasing new music soon.
Cortney may have more great news this week as she’s nominated for four awards at Thursday’s Premios Estrellas del Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. She’s nominated for Tejano Group / Soloist of the Year, Revelation of the Year, plus Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “Pedire”.
