GoFundMe accounts supposedly set up to help Siggno bass player Jacob Turner are fake, according to the band.
Turner’s father and Siggno lead vocalist, Jesse Turner, commented about the GoFundMe accounts on the band’s official Facebook page on Wednesday.
“We kindly ask you to not set up any GoFundMe accounts or any benefits on behalf of Jacob without our, ‘the families’ authorization. Thank you for your cooperation,” commented Jesse.
Fans shared a link to an unofficial GoFundMe page that was set up to help Turner with donations.
“We cannot do any charity events, we cannot do a ‘go fund me’ account because we are trying to get him state assistance,” Jesse added. “Performing is our only option to be financially ready for whatever happens. I hope you guys can understand me. Much love, your friend, JT.”
Jacob has been in a coma since being critically injured in a one-vehicle accident on the early morning hours of February 8 in Harlingen, Texas.
Candlelight prayer vigils have been set up for Jacob all across the state. Upcoming prayer vigils scheduled include Austin and Victoria on February 18, Abilene on February 21, Brownsville on February 22 and Lubbock on February 23. Get more info on these prayer vigils on the band’s official Facebook page at Facebook.com/OfficialSiggno.
Tejano Nation will continue to update Jacob’s status as more information becomes available.
