NASHVILLE, TN — Rising Mexican-American artist Romeo Vaughn is set to release his newest single, “Big Dreams From A Small Town,” on August 15, a deeply personal track that captures the resilience, faith, and ambition that have defined his life and career. The song, co-written with Brandon Hartt and produced by Ryan Rossebo, blends country soul, Latin pop flair, and smooth R&B into a powerful anthem for dreamers from all walks of life.
The new single offers a heartfelt reflection on Vaughn’s journey—from his humble beginnings in Santa Rosa, Texas, to serving in the U.S. Army, battling homelessness and addiction, and rediscovering his faith and musical voice in Nashville. “‘Big Dreams From A Small Town’ is a song about a small-town kid who went to chase his dreams in a city with every odd stacked against him. He’s holding onto hope while chasing something bigger and continues to believe in himself,” shared Vaughn.
Known for his signature blend of genres and storytelling rooted in lived experiences, Vaughn has become a refreshing presence in the modern country landscape. His deep baritone and smooth delivery draw comparisons to legends like George Strait, while his genre-crossing style evokes the influence of artists like Romeo Santos, Intocable, and Michael Jackson.
Romeo’s musical journey has been shaped by his Texas roots and his Latin heritage—he’s even cousins with Latin GRAMMY-winning Grupo Siggno frontman Jesse Turner. After moving to Nashville in 2016, Vaughn faced 16 weeks of homelessness while working in restaurants before finding support through the VA and nonprofit Matthew 25, where he now gives back. These struggles and victories have fueled his songwriting, including previous releases like “Over,” written with Jason Nix (Lainey Wilson, Luke Grimes), and “Cowboy In The Boots” featuring DJ Kane of the Kumbia Kings.
