Tejano Nation artist Isabel Marie will sing the national anthem at the San Antonio Spurs game on Monday, November 23, 2015.
“I am SUPER excited,” Isabel Marie posted on her official Facebook page. “I am both honored and humbled to have been asked to sing the National Anthem for our San Antonio Spurs.”
This will be the first time the 12-year-old singer will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the Spurs, but she has performed the national anthem many times at venues all across the country, including the steps of San Antonio City Hall, in front of the Alamo, Chicago City Hall and Traders Village, to name a few. She has also performed it for sporting events including the San Antonio Silver Stars, San Antonio Talons, Texas Red Wolves, Texas Fuel, HBO Latino Top Rank Boxing and many more.
“She has also been blessed to sing for many dignitaries,” Isabel Marie’s father Carlos Sanchez told TejanoNation. “Among them, San Antonio’s very own Castro family, San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor’s inauguration, the governor in Austin, Cook County States Attorney Anita Alvarez in Chicago, to name a few. ”
“The national anthem is dear to us because I am a proud Mexican-American with a long line of military family members both veterans and currently serving our country” Isabel Marie told TejanoNation. “When I sing our Anthem I think of them and the price they paid for our freedom-its extremely special to me and always give it my all.”
Isabel Marie has been very busy recently, releasing two music videos the past couple of weeks, “Fallaste Corazon” and “Cundo Pienso En Ti,” both produced by Q Productions. She recently performed during the Selena tribute at the 35th annual Tejano Music Awards last month in San Antonio. The singer even took a selfie with Hilary Clinton during the presidential candidate’s recent visit to San Antonio.
You may remember Isabel Marie as a participant on season 3 of Univison’s La Voz Kids and a Sabado Gigante winner.
