Selena fans listening to online radio station SelenaQRadio.com were treated to a previously unreleased track from the “Queen of Tejano” this past week.
“Oh No (I’ll Never Fall in Love Again)” is an R&B-infused Pop song that was originally planned to be recorded by Selena on March 31, 1995. However, she was killed that same day.
“The song was never recorded professionally, but we found a tape where they recorded the rehearsal,” Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla explains. “The reason we never released it as one of her songs was because it was not up to par as far as sound is concerned. Years later, my son A.B. recorded it with the Kumbia Kings. We thought fans could enjoy, even if it’s not a professional recording.”
“Oh No” was meant to be a part of Selena’s debut English-language album Dreaming of You. The recording was later released on A.B. Quintanilla‘s 1999 album Duetos.
