Two decades after the passing of Selena Quintanilla-Perez, M.A.C. announced on Thursday that the Selena Quintanilla Collection will be released in 2016.
“Like the legend herself, Selena Quintanilla’s fans are an inspiration to us all for their love and enthusiasm. It’s happening! We are excited to announce the MAC Selena Quintanilla collection, available in 2016. The collection will be a multi-product limited-edition color collection due out in the 2nd half of 2016,” MAC Cosmetics posted on their official Facebook page.
“I am so excited that M.A.C Cosmetics will be releasing a collection in honor of my sister Selena,” says her older sister, Suzette Quintanilla. “Helping to create this collection brings me back to all those late night conversations on our tour bus when she spoke of having her own makeup line one day. If Selena were here she would be beyond ecstatic to have this happening. History is being made.”
Selena’s husband Chris Perez shared the news via his official Facebook page on Thursday.
“THANK YOU to all of her fans that helped to push this over the top. It could not have happened without your love, support, and persistance in keeping Selena’s memory alive. She is going to have her own makeup line now (thanks to you)! #MACSELENA.”
There are no images of the products available yet, but we’re sure MAC will honor the iconic star’s fashion in a fitting way.
