(AustinVida) – Tonight, Ram Herrera will be back in Austin at OK Corral. Known as “The Most Wanted Man,” “The Man of 1000 Roses,” and one of Tejano music’s biggest stars, the San Antonio native will drive fans crazy with his big smooth voice and decades of hits at the south Austin Tejano club.
Herrera is a bonafide Tejano superstar and, having been in the industry for over 30 years, has seen the genre rise and fall while remaining one of its most popular acts. He first gained notoriety as lead singer for David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, before embarking on an extraordinarily successful solo career, which has earned him a Grammy nomination and numerous music awards, as well as recognition for his humanitarian efforts.
With a career full of hits, Ram is probably best known for “Amor Querido” and also for the Tex-Mex flavored country tune, “I’ve Got a Never Ending Love.” He’s been in the studio lately and earlier this week released “Dime Si Estoy Loco,” the new single from his forthcoming album Mucho Mas Que Amor, due out on July 14th.
Long story short: A great entertainer with one of the best voices around doing quintessential Tejano music with a little country thrown in for good measure. Definitely a cowboy hat and Wranglers kind of night.
OK Corral is located at 629 W Ben White Blvd, at the southeast corner of Ben White and South 1st. The doors open at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $10 before 9 p.m. and $12 after 9 p.m. 21+ are welcome. For more information, message OK Corral on Facebook.
