La Gringa Novelera joins Tejano Nation as TV Contributor

lagringanovelerabannerTelenovela blogger La Gringa Novelera has joined TejanoNation as TV contributor.

La Gringa Novelera, a.k.a. Karen Kerbis, is a trial lawyer from Chicago that decided to try to learn Spanish from watching telenovelas.

“When I learned that my own relatives and in-laws who had emigrated to America from Italy and Czechoslovakia, respectively, learned English from watching TV, I decided to learn Spanish from watching telenovelas,” she said.

“Karen’s entertaining updates on today’s best telenovelas will be a great addition to the growing content of TejanoNation,” said TejanoNation Digital Managing Editor John Henry Medina. “Her content will help keep TejanoNation the top entertainment website for Tejanos.”

La Gringa Novelera began watching telenovelas in January of 2013 at the urging of a co-worker.

“I could never have done it without the help of mi hermanita de sangre and co-worker Irma Lopez,” she said.

“I’m so proud to be a TejanoNation contributor! When I started this project (learning Spanish from telenovelas) I never knew how much my life would change! I’m thrilled to be an Honorary Tejana,” she said. “I was a big Bobby Pulido fan the moment I heard “Desvelado,” in the movie “Bajo la Misma Luna!”

“Tejano Nation is a terrific entertainment website I’m thrilled to be a part of,” she added.

TejanoNation followers will love reading LGN’s updates and commentary on today’s hottest telenovelas  and shows from Telemundo and Univision.
