Samy Cordova released the video on Sunday for his latest single “Eres Mi Primer Amor” off his Resurrection album.
“‘Eres Mi Primer Amor’ hits the core for me for one reason – (my wife) Blanca was my first love since high school and continues to rule my world today, tomorrow and always,” Cordova told TejanoNation.net. “This classic also resonates to a large audience young and old for the same reason – the power of your first love is like no other.”
The Priscilla Villegas-directed visual features 2011 Tejano Idol winner Ashley Borrero in this classic La Fiebre ranchera that was produced into a smooth cumbia rendition by former La Fiebre lead singer Pete Espinoza.
“Pete has a special creative natural ability to compose, produce and arrange awesome memorable songs in his long musical career and is known for one of my favorite ultimate bands to date – La Fiebre,” Cordova said. ” I am proud to say, he has been a great friend and huge influence of mine for the past 17 years.”
Espinoza was part of classic La Fiebre hits including “Borracho de Besos”, “Vestida De Color De Rosa”, “Por Tu Culpa”, “Labios de Cereza”, “Eres Mi Primer Amor” and many more.
Cordova hopes everyone enjoys this new video and appreciates everyone that has been a part of his journey.
“I would like to thank God – first and foremost! To my beautiful wife, Blanca Cordova for the continuous support and the 30 epic years we have shared together and especially to my son, Skylor Cordova who completely changed my life entirely in 2002. As a father I put my dream on hold and focused 100% on being the best dad I could be and will continue to do so. Parenthood is a never ending love. Now that my son is older, today puts me on the path to follow my dream.
I would like to thank the following talented group of people that made this song what it is today.

Priscilla Villegas and Chino of Power House Media TV and to Angel Gonzalez & Ashley Lauren Borrero for making the video come to a full circle – you guys rock!
And also to my Facebook family and friends for allowing me into your homes and daily lives. Thanks for sharing your memorable photos which help me in my daily life and puts a smile on my face-priceless!
Lastly to my mother Elvia Coronado and my father Joe Coronado, who is in the house of the Lord. If my parents did not relocate from San Antonio to Houston in 1978 none of this would of been possible. I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. Take care everyone and God bless!”
