Jimmy Gonzalez co-founded Grupo Mazz in 1978 alongside Joe Lopez. The duo quickly rose to prominence, known for their innovative approach to Tejano music. Even after the original lineup of Grupo Mazz disbanded, Gonzalez continued to make music under the name Jimmy Gonzalez y Grupo Mazz, consistently delivering hits and captivating performances until his death in 2018.
